What Are You Willing to Sacrifice to Get an Edge?

By Derek Neighbors on October 7, 2021

Trail thought. I’ve noticed that a lot of the runners that I respect a lot. Doing ultras, really putting in miles and putting in time, I want to say serious about the sport. They have a deep level of running and there’s a lot of them. Aren’t regular 4:30 / 5:00 AM out on the trail folks. They’re 7:00 to 7:30 ,8 o’clock evening.

I think it dawned on me a lot of it’s what they’re prioritizing. Right? They’re prioritizing their enjoyment and their training and their running maybe even over work or family or other elements. Right?

I think when people are really great at something . They have to sacrifice something in order to get that greatness, what does that look like for you today? What do you have to sacrifice or what are you willing to sacrifice to get an edge or go deeper in the things that are most important to you today?
